Hi there!

My name is Linda, 43 years old and a work at home mom.  When I was a young girl, I got my degree in marketing.  And I loved marketing, I loved the psychologies behind it and couldn’t wait to start my career.  But I soon found out that the real world was tuff and sales and marketing was not as much fun as I thought it would be.

I struggled for a few years, went from one job to the next, trying to find out what I would do with my life.  When I was around 30, I made a U-turn.  I quit my job and I took classes in coaching and psychotherapy. I spent several years studying and in the mean while I was really looking forward to starting my own practice.  It would be a dream come true…

The dream became a reality.  It all came together when we moved to a bigger house were I could have a place for myself away from the noice in the house (I have 4 children!)  I made the room really comfortable and nicely decorated, as I had always seen it in my dreams.  But I guess there was something I forgot to see in my dreams: clients!!

That’s when  I realised this was also a business!  And that scared the hell out of me!!  Asking money for helping people?  How much is my service worth?  Should I go back to marketing?  Promote myself?  I really had to spend some time on making myself clear on the idea that this was actually a business and that success would only come when I aligned myself with it from the inside out.

Can you relate to this?  You’re welcome to browse through my posts and leave a comment here and there.  I’d love to get to know you a little better!

Linda

Authentic Affiliate Marketing

I knew she was a woman after my own heart…

Being authentic is one of my key values, but when I started out doing affiliate marketing, I forgot all about this important value.  Now, that’s OK, people can have values and forget about them once in a while…  There will always be this one article, this one person or this one coach that will remind you who you really are.

Two reasons why being authentic pays of in the long run:

  • The information you give about a product will be consistent  with the actual product.  You will be able to talk about the content and the benefits more genually and people will more likely receive the information they were looking for when they make a purchase.  This will build trust and eventually people will listen when you promote something else along the way.  And you have less refunds!
  • You will feel good about yourself and about your business because you know you are earning your money by truly helping people get to the products and information that is exactly what they were looking for.  You will be able to have a good night sleep after a fulfilling day…

Does this mean you can never promote a product you haven’t used yet?  Or that you can only use an affiliate link for a product you like?  No, but just be honest and authentic.  If someone you know is promoting their first product, why not give them a chance and support them by promoting it? But tell the story as it is, promote this person by telling your audience why it is you trust them to produce a great product and buy the product to show your trust.  People can then take a chance and jump in but they will make a decision based on true information.

I know it is tempting though, all these messages you get in your inbox about all these great product launches and commissions that make your head spin…  But now I have a little angel  ;-) on my shoulder that reminds me that I can do anything I want, as long as I am authentic about it.

6 things I learned from @conniegreen during the Internet Marketing 6 pack Course (2)

The second thing I learned from Connie, is not something that she was really teaching in the course.  It is something I learned about being a coach and a teacher and I learned it just by being in this course:

If you do a course: be personal and over deliver.

This is all about style and choices and every person must make these choices for themselves.   But just by being in this course I have decided that if and when I will do a course myself, it is important to be Continue reading 6 things I learned from @conniegreen during the Internet Marketing 6 pack Course (2)

6 things I learned from @conniegreen during the Internet Marketing 6 pack Course (1)

For the last few weeks, I have been really busy going through and implementing all the information in Connie Green’s course.  And there were quite a few things that hit me.  First of all:

Invest good money and time in yourself and in your business.

There is a lot of free stuff on the Internet, some of it good, some of it not so good.  And free stuff is great to get you going.  You are able to play around a bit, get a feeling of who is who and what some people might have to offer. I know I had a great time going through all the freebies.  It was all new and exciting, like a new toy. ;-)

Then I went on to Continue reading 6 things I learned from @conniegreen during the Internet Marketing 6 pack Course (1)
